Job Description:
As a Senior Veterinary Nurse, you will play a crucial role in managing and delivering advanced patient care. Your expertise will help guide the team in providing comprehensive support and treatment for a diverse range of cases, including those requiring intensive care. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, exhibits strong leadership skills, and has a passion for veterinary nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Triage and Admission: Provide expert triage and assistance with admitting new cases, ensuring prompt and accurate assessment.
Patient Restraint: Comfortably and safely restrain patients for examinations and treatments.
Workload Management: Prioritize patient care effectively, managing a diverse and sometimes intense workload while addressing challenges proactively to ensure optimal outcomes.
Advanced Nursing Skills: Perform advanced nursing tasks including monitoring and maintaining general anaesthesia, radiography, dispensing controlled drugs, maintaining the CD register, and operating a range of diagnostic equipment.
Anaesthesia Support: Assist with anaesthesia monitoring and recovery, particularly for medicine cases.
Inpatient Care: Support internal medicine vets in the care and treatment of inpatients, including those in ICU.
Diagnostic Imaging: Engage in diagnostic imaging, including positioning animals, taking radiographs, and assisting with ultrasound imaging and endoscopy.
Patient Status Monitoring: Recognize changes in patient status and adjust care plans accordingly, communicating these changes to the clinician in charge.
Laboratory Results Interpretation: Interpret laboratory test results and report critical findings to the clinician in charge.
Patient Discharge and Postoperative Care: Oversee patient discharges, prepare patients for surgery, and manage postoperative bandaging and recovery.
Client Invoicing: Accurately generate client invoices to facilitate prompt payment.
Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records, particularly related to anaesthesia and hospitalization.
Client Consultation: Provide expert nursing advice to clients through internal medicine nursing consultations.
Team Collaboration: Actively participate in team briefings and meetings to enhance communication and collaboration.
Client Communication: Communicate with clients under specialist/veterinarians’ guidance to provide or receive patient updates.
Supervision and Guidance: Supervise and guide junior veterinary nurses, patient care assistants, students, and volunteers within the internal medicine department.
Continued Learning: Attend inpatient rounds and engage in ongoing self-learning activities, including continuous development lectures and relevant literature review.
Qualifications:
Qualified Junior or Senior Veterinary Nurse with significant experience in a similar role.
Advanced skills in anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging, and patient care management.
Proficiency in interpreting laboratory test results and using diagnostic equipment.
Diploma in Veterinary Technology / Diploma in Veterinary Clinical Science or Equivalent
Australian Vet Cert from ACVN (Cert 4) will be considered as well.
Requirements:
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and compassionate client consultations.
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior team members.

Open to Work Permit Holders (candidates from Taiwan, Malaysia, Korea etc)
Open to Malaysians applicants in Singapore
Candidates or nurses who do not have experience in a vet clinic will start as Patient Care Assistant
Must be open to do 12-hr shift work with 4 or 5 days work week depending on department.
