Roles & Responsibilities
The candidate is responsible to lead the insurance department on the development, implement and launch the online marine insurance ecommerce platform, overseeing all online insurance transactions:
Responsibilities
Overall in-charge on the development of marine insurance platform – including business requirement design (BRD), testing, quality assurance, provision of assistance and requirements from commercial aspect and continuous improvement, modification, innovation and fine tuning of existing and/or new insurance products and tools
Establish cooperation with insurance companies to convert the existing marine insurance products from offline to online, or design brand new online insurance products together with insurance companies, to provide an innovative way to purchase marine insurance online
Develop global ship owners to experience the online services and place the orders online
Deal with the claim and after sales services to clients
Oversee and handle all online insurance transactions/matters including facilitation of all ETRs/RFQs Responsible for Marine insurance division Standard Operating Procedures (and its continuous development), staff recruitment, monitoring and management the overall performance of the team
Coordinating and collaborating with other business divisions for the development of new businesses as well as the marketing of MOL platform as a whole
Ensure regulatory compliance and legal conformation of MOL insurance platform and its related businesses and services
Management and handling of all daily operational matters
All other adhoc tasks as assigned by the Management
Requirements
Preferably a University Degree or equivalent, with minimum 8 years’ experience in the
Marine Hull Insurance
Marine Liability Insurance
Marine Cargo Insurance
Offshore/Energy
Protection & Indemnity
Good exposure/knowledge and technical interest in IT and e-commerce businesses for the marine industry
Team player, strong solid collaboration and negotiation skills
Exceptional oral presentation skills and ability to clearly articulate complex messages in various applicable form
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with brokers and other insurance professionals
Commercial acumen
Ability to handle and execute all tasks assigned promptly and efficiently
Strong background in Shipping industry
Experience in applying insurance/broker license with MAS is a plus
