Roles & Responsibilities
The Senior Pre-school Educator teachers. HE/She improves their teaching practice. This includes raising the level of trust and respect with children. He/She uses in-depth subject knowledge and pedagogy. In turn, he/she creates and carries out a progressive and culturally proper curriculum. He/She aids innovation in teaching and learning practices. He/She oversees the design, and the setting up of secure and good learning environments. He/She creates structures for partnerships. He/She supports the Lead Teacher towards a culture of constant learning and teamwork. He/She also fosters good relationships with colleagues in the centre.
~ Aid effective work teams, communication and engagement at the workplace.
~ Carry out proper action to protect the children.
~ Create and carry out plans to team with families and people involved with the centre.
~ Create teaching and learning methods to engage children.
~ Design good learning environments.
~ Grow and drive team members via capability development.
~ Guide teachers to enhance their daily practices.
~ Lead in merging the core values of early childhood education within curricula.
~ Merge an understanding of how children (birth to age 8) learn and grow in the course of study.
~ Promote a culture of constant learning.
~ Promote a safe and healthy environment in the centre.
~ Raise the level of trust and respect in relationships with children via interaction.
~ Review teaching and learning plans to meet the diverse needs of children.
~ Show ethics and professionalism.
~ Show critical thought and analysis.
~ Solve problems and make decisions at a supervisory level.
~ Tailor plans to watch and document children’s learning.
~ Use emotional competence to manage self and team at the workplace.
~ Work with the team to align short and long-term goals with the vision, mission and values of the centre.
