Procurement Specialist in a leading Shipping & Transportation MNC (ID: 540974)
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Liaise with shipping line/co-loaders/feeders, overseas offices/agents and hauliers/truckers
Attend to any incoming calls or enquiry
Block booking with carrier/vendors, request for quotations and make recommendations to Customer Service Department
Liaise with Sales support to prepare monthly tariffs after consolidating and comparing carrier/feeder rates
Evaluate carrier/vendor’s quotation and job scope to comply with projects requirement
Engage and initiate discussion with local and regional procurement on rates and space
Evaluate carrier/vendor’s performance and quality standard
Liaise with carrier/vendors to resolve issues such as quality or quantity discrepancies
Communicate all cargo related updates/incidents to Customer Service and Sales Department (cancelled /delayed vessels , misrouted , surcharges increase)
Operational understanding on customs clearance and document processing for Ocean Imports and Exports .
Undertake other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Department Manager and timely reporting to management.
Adherence to Global Standard Processes/Procedures and Governance policies.
REQUIREMENTS??
Diploma with minimum 2 years relevant work experience in ocean freight procurement
Good knowledge on the ocean freight rates market
Good knowledge on Global Standard Processes/Procedures and Governance Policies
Proficient in MS Office
