NLCS (Singapore) is looking for an enthusiastic, highly qualified and committed School Nurse, with an outstanding track record. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the NLCS family of schools, drawing on the significant educational expertise and resources of NLCS International. The successful candidate will manage the Health Centre, oversee the medical care provided and promote good health and welfare amongst all students. Working collaboratively with other teams across the school to ensure the highest levels of wellbeing in the NLCS (Singapore) community. Advising the Senior Team on health risks and the management of health-related incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
To provide and manage emergency medical care across the school for students, staff and visitors.
To work as an informed, proactive, effective and cohesive member of the community with the health and safety of all the students and staff being paramount.
To review the health status of all children on entry to the school in accordance with requirements.
Maintain accurate records for each student.
To identify and coordinate health care for students with additional health needs to ensure that they receive the support required to enable them to attend and benefit from school.
To communicate with students, parents, and teachers on medical matters and assess and advise relative parties with the information received.
To communicate with parents, specialist health care professionals and others to develop individual health care plans for students with complex health needs and long-term conditions. E.g. Diabetes, significant allergies, asthma, etc
To be the first point of contact for children, parents or carers needing health advice or information and offer open access to personalised support and advice in areas such as managing stress, risk-taking behaviours and refer on to other services as necessary.
Identify knowledge gaps and plan Professional Development with the Vice Principal (Pastoral) to actively address these needs, ensuring appropriate updates for First Aid, Basic Life Support and Automated external defibrillator and Epipen Skills.
To keep continuously updated on medical best practice recording and evaluating training completed.
Safeguarding:
Abide by the school safeguarding policy and keep abreast of any changes.
Be responsible for reporting any concerns about a child to the VP (Pastoral).

Qualifications/Skills
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Qualifications/Professional Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
Registered with the Singapore Nursing Board.
Have recent experience of working in a medical or allied health related environment, e.g. paramedic, medical technician, nurse.
Preferably with previous experience in an International School setting.
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
Confident in the use of IT and knowledgeable as to how it can be used in the administrative environment.
