Job Description
This role is supporting Coal and Iron Ore Division’s strategic objective in strengthening its capabilities of risk management and transaction process management. The team supports the operations of the Division Head and front office in terms of P&L and Risk position reporting as well as transaction process monitoring. Candidate would be supporting the team with preparation of trade reports and quantitative analysis of the books with guidance from the existing members as well as functional division.

Job Descriptions:
Profit and Loss computation (30%):
Responsible for Trade books – perform Profit and Loss analysis and prepare position reports by using CTRM (Commodity Trade Risk Management) system and excel spread sheet.
Collaborate with Trade divisions to check the outcome.
Reconciliation of Transactions (30%):
Carrying out trade reconciliation for both physical and derivative transactions, managing accounts and monitoring derivative positions periodically
Preparation for Periodic closing (20%):
Prepare periodic closing of trading books under both trade divisions such as closing of accounting journals for both trade divisions.
Monitor pre-approved trade allocations (10%):
Monitor the usage of internal pre-approved allocation for trading activity such as amount of Letter of Credit, credit risk exposure etc.
Other supporting functions (10%):
Maintain and update operational workflow of Coal and Iron Ore Division in a timely manner
Liaison with Front Office, Trade Operation, Functional divisions (such as Legal & Compliance, Finance & Accounting, Credit Risk team, Digital Transformation team and Market Risk team) and Trade departments
Enhance efficiency through spreadsheet automation, structured data management and utilization of already- introduced Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) system Perform other duties as required during working hours

Job Requirements:
Degree in Business / Finance & Accounting / Engineering / Statistical from a recognized university
At least 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in the commodity trading industry, experience in physical trading industry preferred e.g. Coal, Iron Ore, Other metals, Oil, Gas, Agriculture
Enjoy working with numerical data, analyzing trends, graphs and identifying discrepancies
Able to build good rapport and communicate information well to other divisions
Familiar with middle, front and back-office functions e.g. hedging, derivatives etc.
Proficient in Microsoft Office. Familiar with Excel and features e.g. Pivot Table, Functions, V-lookup
