Roles & Responsibilities
We are a boutique CPE registered school offering classes to both mainstream children and children with developmental or academic challenges. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Special Education Teacher where you’ll inspire and empower students to reach their full potential.
What You’ll Do:
Conduct classroom teaching in an inclusive setting for students from Grade 2 to Grade 8.
Conduct small group teaching for students with different learning challenges.
Develop and implement individualized Learning Plan (ILPs) tailored to each student’s specific needs, in collaboration with other educators and specialists.
Adapt and modify curriculum materials and teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
Deliver high-quality instruction that meets the educational and developmental needs of students with disabilities.
Regularly monitor and evaluate students’ progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students’ performance, including IEP documentation.
Work closely with support staff, and other specialists to ensure a coordinated approach to education.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students’ progress, challenges, and achievements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field from an accredited university.
A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a special education setting.
Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with students with varying abilities.
At least 3 years of experience working with children with learning difficulties.
International Primary Curriculum (IPC) experience/ British Curriculum experience preferred.
International school teaching experience, especially in Asia, is highly regarded.
You may be assigned a teaching role or a mix of both teaching and CCA duties depending on the needs of the school.
Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including linking assessments to IEP development.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
Proficiency in behavior management techniques and the use of appropriate intervention strategies.
Able to start short notice or for the academic year January 2025.
