As a Nurse Educator (Community Setting), you will be responsible for the following duties:
Training and Education:
Conduct training needs analysis to determine skills and knowledge gap.
Plan, develop and conduct in-house training and education program.
Evaluate effectiveness of training program.
Source for external learning opportunities.
Maintain education and skills training records.
Guide and advise clinical instructors/ preceptors regarding nursing students and staff competencies matters.
Support Nurse Manager in investigating ward incidents pertaining to nursing students.
Provide supervision to all grades of nurses, including nursing students.
Identifying skills and knowledge deficits in nursing care delivery.
Work with Nurse Clinician to develop audit tools to monitor nursing care practices.
Assist in emergency situation involving patient care.
Nursing Research:
Reviewing research articles, communicate and apply findings to their areas of practice.
Encourage nurses to identify research questions, participate in research and apply findings to practice.
General:
Assist in reviewing and implementing policies and procedures that’s related to clinical standards and educational or training issues.
Be familiar with mass disaster plan and particiate in mass casualty exercises according to assigned roles and responsibilities.
Actively participate in quality improvement projects.
Develop and review Job instructions and Job improvements for department work processes as well as training and equipping staffs to carry out their work safely and conscientiously.
Keep abreast of current trends in clinical and education practices.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the reporting officer / Head of Department.
Requirements:
Working experiences in education and training.
Registered with Singapore Nursing Board.
