Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer to manage the multiple on-going projects. The ideal candidate is a hands-on platform builder with significant experience in developing scalable data platforms. We’re looking for someone with first-hand technical expertise in a variety of configuration management and big data technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust scalable solutions that can manage large data sets. This person must be at ease working in an agile environment with little supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Working on multiple projects internally to deliver project deliverables timely and with high level of quality.
Facilitate cross-functional requirements gathering and analysis sessions and document project specifications. Interpret business requirements in business/B2B/EAI/EDI/Integration projects
Perform customer facing, requirement gathering, solution finding, design, create logical maps, setup data communication, create test plan, create test data, conducting QA, integration testing, implementation support, create data flow diagram and support documentation.
Utilize effective communication or negotiation skills, employing diplomacy and sensitivity to resolve critical or escalated issues affecting the customer, staff, or senior management.
Perform full software life-cycle development activities using independent judgment and creativity to accomplish critical tasks.
Develop, install, and maintain software according to established standards and specifications.
Create and maintain documentation for full life-cycle development and implementation of software including requirements, analysis, design, and testing.
Identify and resolve the most complex and technical programming, configuration, and performance problems with applications.
Job Requirements:
Degree/Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or related discipline
Professional certification in the below is advantage:
IBM iSeries CL/RPG
Oracle PL/SQL
Microsoft SQL
Microsoft VB and .NET
Oracle Java
PHP
3-4 years as Software Engineer or similar role
Ability to relate to users from all levels to understand user requirements and balance with system capabilities
A good team player as well as ability to work independently
Familiar with various operating systems and platforms
Excellent communication skills
Good knowledge on Databases (DB2, Oracle, Microsoft) and Programming languages on (IBM CL/RPG, Oracle PL/SQL, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft VB and .NET, Java and PHP)
Other duties as assigned.
