Roles & Responsibilities
My client, a reputable organization, is seeking to hire a head of software and design & development to manage their enterprise information system.
Job Descriptions
• Lead the design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of enterprise information systems
• Recruit, grow, mentor, develop and motivate team members
• Set goals/ targets for team, and drive action plans to closure
• Define and enforce application security and usability standards for on-premise and cloud-hosted software solutions
• Define, enhance and drive software design and development practices, standards, processes, tools, and templates
• Manage projects (both in-house and outsourced) to ensure that proposed technical solutions are sound, and the defined service levels and schedules are met with satisfaction
• Translate project strategy into tasks/activities and manage risks within each phase of the project
• Ensure high quality of deliverables from the team
• Form good user relations and cultivate trust among users and staff
• Ensure prompt and efficient support services for the end users, including request and issue management
• Conduct reviews to gather user feedback and plan for continuous improvements
• Assist supervisor in strategic planning and budgeting
Requirements:
• Degree / Diploma in Computer Science or IT
• 8 – 10 years of relevant experience with good track record of software design and development, project management, and business analysis with at least 3 years in a people management role.
• Extensive design and development experience for on-premise and cloud-hosted software solutions; OutSystems, Microsoft .NET, PeopleSoft, and/or SAP platforms. Higher Education domain knowledge will be an advantage.
• Strong leadership skills, able to lead by example and motivate teams; the candidate with hybrid skill sets, ie. functional, technical and managerial will have an advantage to perform well in this position.
• Strong management skills in team, project, change, outsourcing/vendor and contract management.
• Excellent interpersonal, persuasive, and communication skills (both oral and written skills are essential).Able to work well with people at different levels of the organization.
• Ability to provide a balanced view of a problem situation, good problem solver, and able to guide the team to analyze complex business issues and provide effective solutions.
• Good knowledge of software development life cycles, software engineering, and security best practices and quality standards.
