Roles & Responsibilities
Position
In a challenging and multicultural environment, we seek a COBOL Developer to join our CASH MANAGEMENT & CORPORATE BANKING SERVICES (CCS) DEPARTMENT. CCS design and manage the ICBS (International Core Banking System) of the company.
The department is in charge of the development and maintenance of financial core banking modules, including Accounts & Expense Management, Referential System and Access management system etc.
The position requires autonomy and reliability in performing duties while maintaining close communication with the rest of project/support teams as well as the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently. The candidate will need to develop a good understanding of both IT systems and business processes. As a COBOL developer you will be involved in analyzing functional specifications for development, prepare technical documentation, design, code and test as per the needs of our ICBS Information System.
You will ensure the assigned projects; activities and tasks are delivered within the defined time, scope, cost and quality.
Main responsibilities
Develop, implement and test components from functional specifications.
Elaborate technical specifications, based on functional requirements and high-level architecture.
Contribute to technical design and liaise with business analysts on all aspects of business requirements.
Participate in analyzing, resolving and providing technical support escalated to the team.
Draft specifications, technical design, unit tests, peer reviews, detailed system integration documents, and any other documents as required during the project lifecycle.
Contribute to maintaining a high standard of delivery quality.
Participate in technical discussions and propose solutions based on industry best practices.
Perform level 3 Support of applications in production – analyze and resolve issues as they arise.
Setup and track individual team member KPI with proper audit trail by reviewing on fixed intervals and incase of improvements needed, to propose improvement plans with member
Discover and groom talents within the team, plan for succession and redundancy
Create team culture and condition to promote and maintain good level of staff motivation.
Qualifications and Profile
This position requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant experiences in COBOL and C.
Technical
Micro Focus COBOL
C and Pro*C languages
Shell scripting
SQL/PL-SQL
Knowledge on Java-J2EE will be an advantage
Nice to have
Docker, Kubernetes
COBOL-IT
Control M, Schedulers
Functional
General knowledge or background in financial accounting is a plus.
